OTHER FORMS OF THE WISDOM COUNCIL
The Wisdom Council is a flexible tools that can be used to resolve a wide range
of challenging issues that have complexity at their root.
Personal Wisdom Council
With training and practice
anyone can learn to create a powerful question and take it to their inner
council. By learning how to access our inner wisdom we can make more
balanced and whole decisions in our lives.
Wisdom Councils for Large Groups
This is an example from WindEagle and RainbowHawk, our teachers, in The
Change Handbook: Group Methods for Shaping the Future, 2007.
They opened
an intensive five days with members of the Central and South American
division of a multinational organisation.
Using the Ancient Wisdom Council, they restructured and revitalized their
organization,
adapting to new opportunities and conditions evolving in their field.
Here is a diagram of the process they used:
Climate Councils
We are part of an international network aiming to ensure that the voices
of all the people are heard and communicated to the Copenhagen Climate
Conference 2009.
We are in the process of planning a series of
international Climate Councils using the Wisdom Council process to evoke
the collective intelligence of more people to address this vital challenge.
Councils for
Peace
One of
the aims of the embyonic World Foundation for the Discipline of Peace
is to connect the myriad individuals, groups and small organisations
who share similar aims to restore peace to the planet.
The Wisdom Council offers a wonderful process
for connecting people, developing a deeper shared understanding and releasing
the collective intelligence.
Cohesive Communities Circles
The breakdown of our communities contributes to the many challenges individuals
and neighbourhoods face. We are exploring how the Wisdom Council can
help diverse and often opposing groups find common ground and learn how
to identify and take the actions that will create the communities they
dream of.
Desiging Organisations for Complexity
Working with George Por and his team at Community Intelligence Ltd, we
have disigned a new way of organising work that weaves together the energies
of the eight perspectives of the Wisdom Council, the Viable Systems Model
of Stafford Beer, and learning from the Open Source Movement. Read more..
